Rachel and Garrett were getting married at Cipriani 25 Broadway, so they decided to get ready at a beautiful boutique hotel nearby called The Beekman. Our original plan had been to bring the portraits over to Battery Park for some outdoor pictures, but the rain was not cooperating with us that day. However all this turned out into a blessing in disguise as we were able to use the stunning Beekman for portraits. The natural light poured in through the enormous skylight and the dramatic architecture of the balconies made for some really special photos from Kim of Brian Dorsey Studios.
After portraits everyone travelled over to Cipriani 25 Broadway. As guests entered the East Hall, they were greeted with an enormous tree with gold branches, and white and gold flowers around the base. Fleurs really went above and beyond creating such a stunning piece! Hanging from the tree were all the guest escort cards, which were hand calligraphed by Papel and Co. We had hung these in alphabetical order as best we could around the tree to try and make it as easy as possible to find the cards. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun with it and all the guests managed to find their cards pretty easily. I remember checking on the tree 15 minutes into the cocktail reception and all the cards were already taken!
Rachel and Garrett were married under a lush green chuppah filled with creamy white and blush roses. A string quartet from Elan Artists played “Fields of Gold” for the processional, “Pachelbel’s Canon in D” for the bride and “Here Comes The Sun” for the recessional! Cantor Shira Ginsburg created such a meaningful ceremony for Rachel and Garrett.
After the ceremony, guests were invited back into the East Hall and Foyer for the cocktail reception, while we flipped the Great Hall from ceremony to dinner setup. Her cocktail was Bee’s Knees: gin, lemon, honey with a lemon twist. His cocktail was Ginger Cider: bourbon whiskey, ginger, apple cider, lemon juice and Angostura bitters.
I have always loved the architecture and details of the interior of Cipriani 25 Broadway. I have been at that venue so many times, and each time I always find myself taking one more photo of that jaw dropping ceiling. The florals from Fleurs brought an enchanted garden feeling for dinner with plenty of lush greenery and romantic white and blush roses. Tall branch arrangements and low lush florals on the round tables created visual interest throughout the room. For the three dramatically long tables around the dance floor, we created a long design of varying heights with flowers and floating candles on top of a mirror table. The head table had a hanging trellis of flowers overhead with candles hanging from it in glass globes. It was all so stunning! We used navy linens which made the florals really pop. For each place setting we had a white charger with a gold scalloped detail and a hand calligraphed place card. We brought in a delicious wedding cake from Nine Cakes that had metallic gold brushed details and and elegant tumble of elegant sugar flowers. Inside were alternating layers of chocolate and almond cake with coconut buttercream and chocolate shavings.
It was a beautiful setting for quite the dance party that ensued with their band 45 Riots. As we transitioned later to a DJ for the after party, we also brought in Joe’s pizza and Shack Shack for the late night crowd. I love a couple who knows good food and just the right type of food that people crave at midnight!
