Romantic Spring Evening at Blue Hill at Stone Barns - Miranda and Nat

Miranda and Nat’s spring wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns was a celebration of colour, texture, and elegant abundance. With 164 guests, they embraced the venue’s full layout, from Restaurant to HayLoft, and filled it with lush florals in soft pinks and blush tones.

The day began at the Opus Westchester, where Miranda and her bridesmaids spent a calm morning getting ready before heading to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Her gown awaited, freshly steamed and ready, as the final preparations took place in the quiet of the private dining room which is used as the bridal suite. Jenny Fu photographed the day, capturing every soft moment of spring light and the natural ease between them. Their first look took place beside the ivy covered shed, with portraits around the property before guests began to arrive.

The couple’s stationery set the tone for the day with elegant black letterpress script surrounded by a blind pressed floral border, tied neatly with a pearl white silk ribbon. The result was refined, tactile, and timeless.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the courtyard beneath the large maple tree, its leaves filtering the afternoon light into a golden haze. Beforehand, Miranda and Nat signed their Ketubah in the restaurant’s private dining room, an intimate prelude to the celebration to come.

Rabbi Tucker officiated, and the music carried an easy romance. The processional featured “The Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel, the bride walked to “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan, and the recessional was “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” performed by Sterling Strings.

The flowers by Poppies and Posies were lush and full, a complete vision of spring. A wooden chuppah was dressed in soft white fabric and covered with dense peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus in creamy white, blush, and petal pink. The aisle flowers appeared to bloom from the ground, lined with roses and lisianthus, while cones of rose petals waited on each chair lining the aisle. Miranda carried a bouquet of petal pink peonies, blush sweetpea, and garden roses, and her bridesmaids held softer, more muted versions tied with grosgrain ribbon.

Cocktails

Cocktails were served in the restaurant and on the terrace, where guests sampled small seasonal hors d’oeuvres that included potato bites, lettuce broth with buckwheat, oyster with rhubarb granita, whole wheat cracker with asparagus, chickpea cracker with fiddlehead ferns, and chicken with upland rice. Aubry 1er Cru Champagne was poured and guests were able to go into the bakery for the Blue Hill’s Bakery Experience.

Two signature cocktails framed the hour. Strawberry Fields featured gin, strawberry, rhubarb, and rosé. Blueberry Hill offered a non alcoholic blend of blueberries, purple basil, and vanilla. Sterling Strings played contemporary pieces in the background, keeping the courtyard energy bright and social before dinner upstairs.

Dinner

Dinner took place in the Upper HayLoft, where birch bentwood chairs with ivory cushions surrounded tables alternating between tall and low floral centerpieces. Arrangements of creamy white, blush, and petal pink peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, and sweetpea filled aged gold vases or rose above the tables on elegant stands. Taper candles under glass shades glowed softly. The sweetheart table featured a lush floral installation that seemed to grow from the tabletop, the perfect expression of Miranda’s love of flowers.

The menu showcased the best of spring:

First Course
First of the Asparagus, in the style of a tartare
Clos Ste. Magdeleine Méditerranée Blanc, Provence 2023

Second Course
Mushroom Cannelloni with ricotta and ramps
Château de Pierreclos Au Grand Bussière, Saint Véran 2022

Third Course

Château Brane Cantenac Margaux de Brane, Bordeaux 2020

Dessert
Lulu Wedding Cake, vanilla with strawberries and vanilla buttercream

The cake, created by Lulu Cake Boutique, was a white vintage style buttercream cake with delicate piping and a soft, romantic finish — a nostalgic touch that felt perfectly in tune with the day’s palette and setting. Menus doubled as place cards, with each guest’s name printed at the top, and custom vegetarian and kosher versions printed in advance. Miranda and Nat shared their first dance to “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys before dinner began, a quiet and joyful moment that set the tone for the evening ahead.

After Party

After dinner, guests were invited downstairs to the lower HayBarn for the Horah and a spirited after party. The space was transformed with fairy lights along the wall and a mirrored disco ball above the dance floor. We brought in lounges by Patina featuring curved petal sofas and blush Frida chairs inside, with rattan pieces arranged in the courtyard. Deanna First sketched live fashion illustrations of guests throughout the night, creating one of a kind keepsakes and drawing a steady line of admirers eager to be captured on paper.

DJ Cousin Cole kept the dance floor full, spinning a mix of classics and modern tracks until the final song, “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie. Passed desserts included buckwheat brownies, strawberry sorbet, and s’more semifreddo, a nod to Miranda’s love of strawberries, along with late night favourites of fried chicken sliders, french fries with mayo, and waffle grilled cheese.

The evening unfolded with a sense of beauty and ease. It was a celebration that felt both personal and exuberant, the perfect beginning to Miranda and Nat’s marriage.
