Rehearsal Dinner at Locanda Verde, Tribeca
Set in the heart of Tribeca, Locanda Verde offered an inviting backdrop for a rehearsal dinner that felt warm, generous, and rooted in the experience of gathering around the table. The private dining room, anchored by its stone fireplace, created an immediate sense of intimacy and comfort as guests arrived for Sydney and Jordan’s celebration.
The space was thoughtfully layered with classic and fresh florals in a palette of white and greens, chosen to enhance the character of the room. Star shaped blooms with distinctive forms added movement and visual interest across the tables, while a statement arrangement at the corner of the bar drew the eye and balanced the room. A floral installation growing organically from the fireplace felt naturally connected to the architecture rather than imposed upon it. Candlelight played a central role in setting the mood. Ivory taper candles at varying heights cast a soft, chic glow across the dining tables, complemented by votives placed throughout the room. Hand calligraphed place cards added a personal layer to each setting, reinforcing the sense of intention behind every detail.
Dinner unfolded in a relaxed, family style format that suited Locanda Verde’s approach to Italian cooking. The evening began with antipasti designed for sharing, including creamy Sardinian sheep’s milk ricotta with herbs and ciabatta, a crisp arugula salad with apple and asiago, and blue crab crostini finished with tomato, jalapeño, and garlic crema. As the meal continued, pasta courses arrived, from fusilli giganti tossed in basil pesto with stracciatella and pine nuts to the restaurant’s beloved grandmother’s ravioli. For the main courses, guests enjoyed roasted branzino fra diavolo alongside AC’s fire roasted garlic chicken, with broccolini dressed simply with overnight garlic and pepperoncini. As guests departed, they were sent home with pink boxes of Swedish candy from BonBon (a favourite of the couple) that provided a sweet ending to the night.
Locanda Verde continues to stand out as a rehearsal dinner venue that balances strong architectural character with a welcoming atmosphere and food meant to be shared. The result was an evening that felt cozy, generous, and classic New York.
