Brooklyn Botanic Gardens Wedding: Emily and Michael

Spring is my favourite season as things start growing, everything slowly turns green and flowers become gloriously abundant! Emily and Michael had a gorgeous Brooklyn Botanic Gardens wedding. The weather was touch and go with the rain that day, but we managed to have the ceremony outdoors on a paved section of the gardens surrounded by the magnificent lush trees. Their close friend married them and their two brothers stood with them under the simple and elegant chuppah. Emily did not have traditional bridesmaids, but her four good friends helped as ushers and she gifted them personalized jackets.

I loved the palette with creamy whites and vibrant greens with a sunshine pop of yellow. Emily was leaning towards more muted colours and Michael to bright pops, so this was the perfect balance for them! The centerpieces by Mimosa were a mix of metallic copper terrariums and vase arrangements incorporating ranunuclus, passion flowers, tree peonies, allium buds and garden roses. The backdrop of the head table was a magnificent green wall with a neon sign “The Kuzies”. The calligraphy escort cards were hung with mini gold clothespins and displayed on a wall flanked by 2 green walls.

Emily surprised Michael with a groom’s cake from his favourite bakery, the “birthday cake” from Milkbar and had it iced with “let’s always have our cake and eat it too”. Their favours were super delicious whoopie pies from One Girl Cookies. Thank you to the amazing Judy Pak for these delightful images!
