Spring is my favourite season as things start growing, everything slowly turns green and flowers become gloriously abundant! Emily and Michael were married in June in the gorgeous Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. The weather was touch and go with the rain that day, but we managed to have the ceremony outdoors on a paved section of the gardens surrounded by the magnificent lush trees. Their close friend married them and their two brothers stood with them under the simple and elegant chuppah. Emily did not have traditional bridesmaids, but her four good friends helped as ushers and she gifted them personalized jackets.
I loved the palette with creamy whites and vibrant greens with a sunshine pop of yellow. Emily was leaning towards more muted colours and Michael to bright pops, so this was the perfect balance for them! The centerpieces by Mimosa were a mix of metallic copper terrariums and vase arrangements incorporating ranunuclus, passion flowers, tree peonies, allium buds and garden roses. The backdrop of the head table was a magnificent green wall with a neon sign “The Kuzies”. The calligraphy escort cards were hung with mini gold clothespins and displayed on a wall flanked by 2 green walls.
Emily surprised Michael with a groom’s cake from his favourite bakery, the “birthday cake” from Milkbar and had it iced with “let’s always have our cake and eat it too”. Their favours were super delicious whoopie pies from One Girl Cookies. Thank you to the amazing Judy Pak for these delightful images!

Carly and Bobby were married at St Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church and the reception followed at The Plaza Hotel. The gorgeous invitation suite from Fourteen Forty set the tone for this wedding with calligraphy details, hand drawn monogramme, navy ribbon wrap and a metallic gold wax seal with their initials. Carly wore a timeless Vera Wang gown with lace details and a beautiful sash and bow. The bridesmaids in different styles and shades of blue with the gents in classic black tie made for a very good looking bridal party. It was the biggest one we’ve had to date with 13 bridesmaids and 13 groomsmen!
Putnam and Putnam created a refined autumnal palette of cream, mauve, gold and deep rust red. They blew me away with the stunning floral arch they built at the entrance to the ballroom for dinner. Inside the magnificent ballroom, we had a mix of low florals in brass footed vessels, tall arrangements on four post brass stands and slender ivory taper candles. They incorporated berries, green pomegranates and deep red persimmons in the tablescape, which really popped against the rich navy velvet linen for the head table. The top of each menu had a gold wax seal. We brought in a white dance floor from Hitech Events with a custom geometric design using black and gold mirror. Cafe Wha rocked the party and that dance floor was packed all night long!
Nine Cakes designed the gluten free wedding cake, which was lemon cake layered with lemon curd, cream cheese frosting and fresh raspberries. Carly surprised Bobby with a groom’s cake of dark chocolate, mint buttercream and mini chocolate chips. It was a green leprechaun hat with a gilded clover and a gold Notre Dam emblem.
We ended the night with a bang, as we passed out confetti sticks. Their nearest and dearest showered Carly and Bobby with confetti and so much LOVE! All captured by the lovely Judy Pak.

As the weather is starting to turn cooler in New York, I'm thinking back to this gorgeous autumn wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Sarna and Matthew were married on a crisp fall day at one of my favourite venues. Sarna wore a stunning vintage inspired beaded gown from Jenny Packham and fresh flowers in her hair.
Saipua designed the florals in a creamy white and soft blush palette with accents of deep pomegranate red. With an intimate wedding of 128 guests, we were able to setup the ceremony chairs in a circular fashion around the beautiful wild chuppah. It was an incredible feeling getting married to your love surrounded (literally) with all the people you care most about! I adored the ring box (made from legos by the ring bearer) and the embroidered cloth covering the table under the chuppah (a gift from a dear friend). Another friend officiated the wedding and it all made their ceremony feel so personal and special.
Sarna and Matthew found a day of the dead cake topper in a store selling Mexican art and it was a perfect nod to Matthew's heritage. The wedding cake from Blue Hill at Stone Barns was apple, crème fraiche, vanilla chiffon cake. All the food from Blue Hill was so beautifully presented, seasonal and delicious! Sean from 74 Events kept the dance floor packed all night and whole day was captured so timelessly by James at Judy Pak Studio. It was the perfect way for Sarna and Matthew to spend their Thanksgiving weekend celebrating with family and friends. I was so lucky to have been a part of it!

Sara and Chris were looking for a bucolic venue not too far from the city, and they found that at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. They were able to host a wedding that felt elegant, seasonal, wild and autumnal. Sara was 6 months pregnant and wore an elegant silk gown with flower appliques from Elisabeth Fillmore. Chris wore a bespoke navy blue Martin Greenfield tuxedo. I loved the flower girl dresses from Isabel Garreton with the navy details. They looked so cute with their crowns incorporating porcelain berries!
For the florals, Sara wanted something that was wild and unfussy. Saipua was the perfect choice. Creating arrangements like a beautiful Dutch still-life. The colour palette for the ceremony was lighter, incorporating blush and warm peach tones. Going into cocktails and dinner, the colours evolved into deeper and more saturated tones, purple, gold and deep chocolate. Permissions (a staple of Sara's childhood and something that signified the coming of winter) were incorporated into the arrangements. Katie Fischer Design created an invitation suite with modern and marble elements, complete with copper calligraphy by Mary Ellen on dark navy envelopes.
Chris is a production designer and created a neon sign for the cocktail hour. Sara is a writer/director, and edited together a compilation of scenes from their favourite films, which was projected over the bar and played like a silent film. Colourful streamer panels from Color Condition and luxe lounge pieces from Patina made for a fun cocktail hour atmosphere!
The seasonal food from Blue Hill at Stone Barns was incredible. We started with a beet salad with fresh yoghurt and pine nut butter, then had a second course of lobster and brussels sprouts, and finished with lamb loin, butternut squash and a risotto of grains. Each course with a thoughtful wine paring. During dinner a New Orleans jazz band Roamin' Jasmine played and later we transitioned to a DJ from 74 Events for dancing with lots of soul and old hip hop. Thank you to Judy Pak for documenting their celebration so beautifully! One of my all time favourite weddings I was so delighted and honoured to have been a part of.
