Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Sarah and Noah
Sarah and Noah’s wedding was a truly memorable event, set over Thanksgiving weekend at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Their focus was on creating a day that felt personal, meaningful, and seamless for their family and friends. Here’s how we helped bring it all together.
The Venue
Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York’s Hudson Valley was an easy choice for Sarah and Noah. It wasn’t just beautiful; it had deep personal significance for Noah, who has been connected to the farm for over a decade through his best friend, a farmer at Stone Barns. The combination of natural surroundings and elegant spaces made it the perfect backdrop for their celebration.
Design and Atmosphere
The design reflected the season and the couple’s love for natural beauty. Denise Fasanello focused on organic floral arrangements with roses, orchids, callas, and seasonal blooms in creamy whites, ivories, and touches of lavender. Clear glass vases and candlelight added understated warmth and sophistication.
The Ceremony
Held in the upper hayloft, the ceremony was intimate and personal. Noah walked in to "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka, while Sarah chose "Madness" by Muse played by Sterling Strings. Their vows were exchanged under a white and green chuppah adorned with elegant phalaenopsis orchids. Sarah wore a Danielle Frankel dress, aptly called Noa, a long sleeve off-the-shoulder bias cut silk wool gown with criss-cross draping detail across the low back. Paired with a sleek bouquet of long-stemmed callas.
Cocktail Reception
Guests were treated to a culinary experience during cocktail hour in the restaurant, featuring passed hors d'oeuvres including honeynut squash soup, kale tart, vegetable tacos, potato croquettes, and Widow’s Hole oysters. The farm table in the restaurant (designed inhouse by the team at Blue Hill at Stone Barns) was decorated with evergreen trees sculpted from natural materials, nicely tying in the winter theme.
Dinner
For dinner, Blue Hill’s team delivered a seasonal menu that showcased the venue’s farm-to-table philosophy. The first course was Badger Flame Beet with a whole wheat cracker. The second course included Atlantic Halibut with pistou of cauliflower, and the third course was Pasture-Raised Chicken served with fall carrots and Brussels sprouts. The meal concluded with a pear and chocolate chiffon wedding cake, sweetened with Stone Barns’ summer wildflower honey.
Dancing
After dinner, guests moved to the haybarn for dancing with the Cafe Wha band. Pegasus Productions transformed the space with waves of string lights along the ceiling and rotating disco balls over the dance floor. Cozy white lounge seating from Taylor Creative provided a comfortable spot for breaks, keeping the energy relaxed and fun. During dancing, guests enjoyed passed desserts like s’more semifreddo and whole wheat brioche doughnuts.
Sarah and Noah added thoughtful personal touches throughout the day. Polaroid photos of the guests were taken, digitized, and placed in custom sleeves for guests to take home, complete with a QR code for accessing the gallery. Their love for Swedish candy inspired the wedding favours: curated bags of sweet and sour treats from Bonbon tied with pink ribbons. Their wedding was a celebration of their story and the things they value most. It was a privilege to help them bring their vision to life, from the meaningful venue to the smallest details. Here’s to more celebrations that feel as personal and intentional as theirs!
