Chocolat Moderne

I had the pleasure of meeting Joan Coukos Todd, the founder of Chocolat Moderne at her chocolate workshop in the Flat Iron District.  When I stepped into her space, the air was filled with an unbelievable aroma of chocolate.  Joan exclusively uses Valrhona chocolate to create these rich and dark chocolates.  I always like edible wedding favours, that guests can enjoy on their way home.   I tried some traditional flavours like pistachio, along with more exotic ingredients like shiso leaf and jalapeno. All delicious.  They are so beautiful and colours are completely customizable to your event.  Chocolat Moderne offers simple white boxes which you can decorate with a ribbon in your wedding colours.  To show off the beauty of the chocolates themselves, you could use a clear box.  A dessert table filled with these creations would be a delight!

Cookie Mix Favours

My sister sent me the link to Bakerella, a sweet blog about baking.  I love this idea of a favour for a bridal shower, baby shower, or if you can round up some friends to help, even a wedding.  These jars are filled with cookie ingredients, so when your guests take these home, they just need to add the wet ingredients - 1 egg, 1/2 a cup of butter and a teaspoon of vanilla - before baking them.  I like the pretty layers she formed in the jars and you can personalize the m&m colours to your event.  Head on over to Bakerella's blog post to read about how to make these delightful treats.
