Together with this beautiful couple, I planned this wedding in 3.5 months! We had to move quickly on many things, but the fact that Somia was always so decisive, confident in her choices and had excellent taste made it a complete pleasure. Watch their video highlight from Kiss the Bride Films below and read more about their elegant Rainbow Room wedding on our blog post here!
Coming up on their first wedding anniversary on 4th of July, I realized it was high time I shared Sarah and Bobby's wedding on the blog. They were married on a beautiful sunny day at the Liberty Warehouse, with stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline across the water. The bride's grandparents were all immigrants and Holocaust survivors and her grandmother, who immigrated to this country after the war, was at the wedding. The groom's family on both sides have been in this country for a very long time. His father's side first came here in 1684 and a relative on his mother's side signed the Declaration of Independence. Rabbi Gloria Milner did a wonderful job of weaving their stories into the ceremony.
Sarah and Bobby wanted to get married at a venue that was romantic, rustic and still felt very New York. The floral design was vintage and garden inspired, with a touch of glam. We used warm amber uplighting around the room and festive cafe lights over the dance floor. For the escort cards, the bride hand tied sparklers to escort cards with a delicate blush ribbon. When we were playing with the sparklers late night, fireworks started going off in the distance. A perfect ending to a lovely wedding! Thank you to the wonderful Dave Robbins for sharing these images with us.

What a lovely way to start Monday off with one of our summer weddings on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book Blog! Working with a dream team of wedding professionals, it was a delight to bring Amy and Mike's vision to life, and see everything come together on their wedding day. Another sweet film from Kiss the Bride Films for an adorable couple who were married at The Carltun this summer. They wrote their own ceremony vows, with the bride quoting from one of their favourite songs, Just Breathe. This is one of the reasons why I love film. The ability to capture those vows and speeches forever. Congratulations again to Amy and Mike!

If we're working on 4th of July, how appropriate that it should be for a very sweet couple at the Liberty Warehouse with waterside views of the Statue of Liberty. Bobby had the best sense of humour and was so warm and kind. Sarah wore a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown and had put such sweet touches on the wedding. For their escort cards, she hand tied sparklers with a pink ribbon. At the end of this highlight, where the fireworks started going off as we were playing with sparklers with Dave Robbins Photography is just perfect. Thank you to Kiss the Bride Films for capturing their special day and sharing this highlight with us.

Classic, sophisticated, New York, are words that come to mind when I think back on this wedding. Allison and Brian wanted to create a celebration that would be timeless and they chose the perfect Manhattan venue for this. The Harold Pratt House, an elegant townhouse on the upper east side built in 1919-1920. Housing a gorgeous marble staircase, tall ceilings and antique chandeliers. They hung one of their framed engagement pictures in the hallway near the entrance. It was almost like you were inviting your closest family and friends to a celebration at your home (if you were so lucky to live in a place like that!)For their winter wedding we used a palette of crisp white, rich gold, romantic burgundy and touches of blush and lavender. Rountree Flowers created two tablescapes, one with towering white quince branches, and another with low lush arrangements of roses, lisianthus, garden roses and stock. Mercury glass pillar candles of varying heights covered the tables, and uplighting along the drapery surrounding the room created a warm glow.
A few months into planning this wedding, I found out I was expecting and would not be able to manage the wedding the day of, as I was due right about the same time. A big thank you to Allison and Brian for being such understanding clients and so supportive through my pregnancy. A huge thank you to my dear friend Lauren from Loli Events, who took over for me the month prior to the wedding day, and made it such a wonderful day for them both. After all that planning, I was very sad that I could not be there the day of, but these images from Brian Dorsey and video from Kiss the Bride Films were the next best thing. I almost felt like I was there!
