Liberty Warehouse Wedding

Coming up on their first wedding anniversary on 4th of July, I realized it was high time I shared Sarah and Bobby's wedding on the blog.  They were married on a beautiful sunny day at the Liberty Warehouse, with stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline across the water.  The bride's grandparents were all immigrants and Holocaust survivors and her grandmother, who immigrated to this country after the war, was at the wedding.  The groom's family on both sides have been in this country for a very long time.  His father's side first came here in 1684 and a relative on his mother's side signed the Declaration of Independence.  Rabbi Gloria Milner did a wonderful job of weaving their stories into the ceremony.

Sarah and Bobby wanted to get married at a venue that was romantic, rustic and still felt very New York.  The floral design was vintage and garden inspired, with a touch of glam.  We used warm amber uplighting around the room and festive cafe lights over the dance floor.  For the escort cards, the bride hand tied sparklers to escort cards with a delicate blush ribbon.  When we were playing with the sparklers late night, fireworks started going off in the distance.  A perfect ending to a lovely wedding!  Thank you to the wonderful Dave Robbins for sharing these images with us.

Being a Guest

Since my job is working weddings, I take particular delight in getting to attend a wedding as a guest.  Even better when it is my sister's wedding in Bath UK.  I love the two dresses she wore, a tea length coast dress and a fun flapper dress she found in a vintage store.  I especially adore the picture that Dasha Caffrey captured of my sister leaping in the air (she is a beautiful dancer).  Originally planning to have a garden party, we were rained out.  We ended up having a house party at The Duchy, a Georgian townhouse that His Royal Highness Prince Charles had owned for many years.  Later on we moved to one my sister's favourite pubs the King William for a delicious dinner.  Being a wedding in the UK, I used the opportunity to wear a ginormous blush fascinator.  If you can't wear one there, where can you?bath uk wedding-1

New York Palace Wedding

This wedding was really special in that it came together so beautifully despite us having to move locations 6 days prior to the wedding due to Sandy.  The couple met on a plane, so they incorporated mini plane silhouettes on their menus, table numbers and on their wedding cake by Ron Ben-Israel.  The flowers by Blossom and Branch in soft and romantic ivory, green and silver with a touch of blush, had such texture and dimension.  Also those shoes by Kate Spade?  Just fabulous!  Thank you to Jen Huang for sharing these images with us.new york palace wedding ang weddings and events jen huang photography-1
