Bridgewaters Wedding in South Street Seaport

I am so happy to be able to share these images from Julia Newman Photography here on the blog.  This wedding was recently featured on Style Me Pretty, where the groom wrote a memorable and humourous description of the wedding day.Johan and Meghan are the sweetest couple and I feel so blessed to have met them and been part of their special day.  Funnily enough I met Meghan while getting my hair cut by the lovely Nercy of Alchemy Space Salon.   She was next in the chair after me and we struck up a conversation thanks to Nercy's introduction.  For Meghan and Johan, the wedding day was all about a celebration with friends and family.  They both come from large families and it was so lovely to see how close they are and how much they mean to their friends.  All together a very sweet and meaningful day.

They chose a quintessentially New York City inspired letter-pressed invitation suite by the ever stylish Ceci New York.

These first look images that Julia took just outside the Andaz Hotel are priceless.

The weather was glorious that day and the bridal party took advantage of that by taking portraits around South Street Seaport.  At this point I was at the church setting things up and greeting the musicians and officiant.  It was so lovely when I received these images and could see the magic that Julia was weaving.  Meghan was not even going to try on this gown at her Amsale appointment, but with some urging from her little niece, she tried on "the sparkly one" and ended up getting it!  I think it look fabulous on her.  So elegant, and with interesting details to make it really special.

....and they're married!

The reception took place at Bridgewaters, which has incredible views of the water, ships and bridges.  The weather was nice enough for guests to enjoy the terrace and the view.  Their band The Touch kept the dance floor packed the entire night.  It was the flower girl, Meghan's niece's birthday, so during the speeches, they brought out a birthday cake especially for her.  Inspired by halloween, we set up a table covered with glass bowls and different types of candy for guests to take home as favours.

Ceci New York also created the paperie for the wedding, with an apple motif to represent New York City.

One of the sweetest moments was when Meghan surprised Johan with this personalized cake topper, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background and Johan wearing an SF Giants hat.

Julia Newman Photography also provided a photo booth that the guests never stopped using throughout the reception.  It being three days before halloween gave everyone the incentive to really dress up and have fun!

I had a blast working with Meghan and Johan.  Congratulations again!

I was delighted to see that Style Me Pretty New York has featured one of our weddings from October last year.  The reception took place at Bridgewaters in South Street Seaport.  A fantastic location to allow for portraits along the cobblestone streets.  Thank you to Julia of Julia Newman Photography for her beautiful images and Leslie of Kiss The Bride Films for a sweet video of the wedding day.

Johan wrote such a memorable account of the wedding, so head on over to Style Me Pretty New York and have a read.  Congratulations to Meghan and Johan!

St Bartholomew's Church Wedding Ceremony

I love a one shoulder gown.  There is something that I find so elegant and chic about it.  The Bride wore a Carolina Herrera gown from Mark Ingram Atelier with alternating layers of tulle and silk mikado.  It was modern and striking, but still romantic.  She got ready at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Their first wedding celebration was in India, where the Groom's family is from.  For the New York wedding, the Bride wore the same necklace that she had worn in India.

Fabulous nude Christian Louboutin peep toe platform pumps.

They had their first look at the Four Seasons Hotel followed by portraits in the hotel and on the East side of Manhattan.

I always love a New York yellow cab picture.

The stunning St Bartholomew's church on Park Avenue.

Check back tomorrow for the post on the reception at Per Se.
