Amy and Mike

Listening to your wedding professionals is a good thing.  Amy and Mike wanted to take their engagement pictures at a vineyard, but the date that worked out for that location was cloudy and rainy.  They were very busy with work and taking off another day was challenging, so they wanted to go ahead.  Their photographer urged them to reschedule and after some back and forth they did.  The results were these dreamy pictures below, courtesy of the amazingly talented Jen Huang, taken on a beautiful day at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.  Mike and Amy couldn't be happier that they listened to Jen and absolutely love their engagement pictures. I am super excited for their wedding this weekend!brooklyn botanical garden engagement jen huang photography ang weddings and events-1

A Paris Engagement

My dear friends Vishal and Anisha are serious travelers.  They live in London, Vishal proposed to Anisha in New York City, they are getting married in South Africa and they met with their wedding photographer to take their engagement pictures in Paris.  Here are some beautiful images of their engagement session from Jan Hendrik, a photographer who splits his time between Paris and South Africa.  A crisp autumn day in a romantic city.  Gorgeous!

Anisha and Vish - I can't wait to attend your wedding in South Africa!

Flat Iron and West Village Engagement Pictures

I have lived on the border of Chelsea and Flat Iron for three years.  It has changed so much with the opening of new restaurants and the incredible markets at Eataly.  Breslin Bar and Dining Room has a really tasty full English breakfast and lamb burger.  John Dory is one of the few places in the city where I can find one of my favourite English dishes Kedgeree.  I also live a block away from Hill Country Fried Chicken (very dangerous for me).

I am lucky to be steps away from the Flat Iron building, Madison Square Park and of course Shake Shack.  I think it makes for a great place to take engagement pictures.  You currently don't need a permit to shoot in Madison Square Park, unlike many of the other parks in Manhattan.  You can use the park, the Flat Iron building and colourful store fronts like Live Bait.

Here are Meghan and Johan's sweet engagement pictures taken by the lovely Julia Newman in the West Village and Flat Iron District.  My favourite is the one of them next to the moving subway train.  I am really looking forward to working with Julia on their wedding at Bridgewaters later this year.
