Classic, sophisticated, New York, are words that come to mind when I think back on this wedding. Allison and Brian wanted to create a celebration that would be timeless and they chose the perfect Manhattan venue for this. The Harold Pratt House, an elegant townhouse on the upper east side built in 1919-1920. Housing a gorgeous marble staircase, tall ceilings and antique chandeliers. They hung one of their framed engagement pictures in the hallway near the entrance. It was almost like you were inviting your closest family and friends to a celebration at your home (if you were so lucky to live in a place like that!)For their winter wedding we used a palette of crisp white, rich gold, romantic burgundy and touches of blush and lavender. Rountree Flowers created two tablescapes, one with towering white quince branches, and another with low lush arrangements of roses, lisianthus, garden roses and stock. Mercury glass pillar candles of varying heights covered the tables, and uplighting along the drapery surrounding the room created a warm glow.
A few months into planning this wedding, I found out I was expecting and would not be able to manage the wedding the day of, as I was due right about the same time. A big thank you to Allison and Brian for being such understanding clients and so supportive through my pregnancy. A huge thank you to my dear friend Lauren from Loli Events, who took over for me the month prior to the wedding day, and made it such a wonderful day for them both. After all that planning, I was very sad that I could not be there the day of, but these images from Brian Dorsey and video from Kiss the Bride Films were the next best thing. I almost felt like I was there!

When Judy Pak asked if I wanted to collaborate on a styled shoot with her, I jumped at the chance. Despite it being October and the peak of wedding season for many of us wedding folk, I just adore Judy's works so much, I had to find a way to work with her on this. I am very happy I did! It was so much fun working on this styled shoot with a super talented group of people. We wanted to create a Great Gatsby styled shoot with a young indie rock and roll twist. The de Seversky Mansion served as the perfect location for the shoot.
Michelle Edgemont styled the shoot and handmade so many unique items. Including the geometric paper decor for the ceremony arch and the confetti bags, which matched the invitation envelope liner from Make Merry.
Tara from Barbara’s Flowers kept the floral decor loose and wild, with pops of colour of romantic burgundy.
Julie from Big City Little Sweets provided a delectable dessert table of goodies. Her cake pops are ridiculously good. Luckily for us, we got to eat them after the shoot. What I wouldn't give to have a few more right now!
The book's couple were called Daisy and Jay, so Judy thought it would be fun to use the same initials in our shoot. We named our couple Dahlia and Jayden, and Michelle Edgemont handmade these awesome signs to go over the bar.
Many thanks to everyone for lending their time and talent to this shoot. Special thanks to Judy Pak Photography for sharing these dreamy images.
