Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Rachel and Jared

Rachel and Jared’s wedding gathered some of my favourite trusted wedding professionals, so when mother nature decided to send us some good luck rain, I walked into the day feeling very confident that we would create a spectacular celebration for them.  Fourteen Forty created a one of a kind invitation suite that combined Rachel’s mom’s love of engraving and Rachel’s love of watercolour illustrations.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Ariana and Dan

A little rain did not dampen the good spirits for Ariana and Dan’s Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding!  We had a rather cold April week, so we had been planning to be indoors anyway as the temperatures were hovering in the low to mid 50s.  Our photographer Elena Wolfe knows Blue Hill at Stone Barns inside and out, so she knew all the good little covered nooks where we could keep Ariana and Dan relatively dry for portraits.  She arranged for the first look in the manure shed, which is always setup so beautifully.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Megan and Jodie

Megan still remembers the first time that Jodie took her to Stone Barns in Tarrytown.  They explored the farm and the adjoining state park.  Jodie casually mentioned that if she ever got married, it would be at Blue Hill at Stone Barns.  When she proposed, it was a no brainer for them to get married there.  Megan and Jodie’s idea for the wedding was on the non-traditional side.  The best way they described it was a wedding with all the boring parts taken out.  They did not plan on having a ceremony and eloped in Central Park in August instead.  They wanted to have an awesome party with their family and friends.  None of the typical formality involved in weddings.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Arielle and Bryant

After rescheduling a year ahead due to the pandemic, Arielle and Bryant finally got married at Blue Hill at Stone Barns with so many of their family and friends in attendance! With over 200 guests, they felt the safest way to host a big celebration was to have the wedding outdoors. As with all our weddings at Blue Hill this year, every guest was fully vaccinated too.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Linden and Jacob

Linden and Jacob's Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding in the spring was so beautiful that it took forever for me to get this blog post together! I had such a hard time choosing pictures from Heather Waraksa, one of my very favourite photographers. The vendor team we collaborated with produced such exquisite work and Linden and her mom were a joy to work with. Blue Hill at Stone Barns is truly spectacular in June. Everything is so lush and green throughout the property.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Hunter and Ryan

We could not have asked for a more perfect spring day for Hunter and Ryan’s Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding in Pocantico Hills, New York. Hunter wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown with sheer sleeves and floral embroidery and an oversized asymmetrical bow at the back. On her feet she wore a hair of hot pink Manolo Blahnik heels. Ryan wore a navy and black tuxedo from Isaia with lace-up oxfords from John Lobb. I am slightly obsessed with the wildly romantic bouquet that Putnam and Putnam designed for Hunter. Featuring peonies, hellerbores, tulips, rannunculus and roses, it had such gorgeous texture and colour!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding: Liz and Gabe

There is something that is really special about a Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding in autumn! The fall foliage for Liz and Gabe was spectacular and made for some incredible scenery for portraits with our photographer Fiona Conrad. Gabe’s friend is an artist who creates wind art using a machine setup in a certain place for a while that captures movements on paper with the power of the wind in that place. Gabe commissioned some of her artwork and Fourteen Forty used the artwork in a combination of metallic copper and navy for the invitation suite. It was modern and really unique!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding Video: Linden and Jacob

Here is Linden and Jacob’s video highlight from their Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding with McKenzie Miller Films! I absolutely loved their ceremony that took place under the cafe awning in the courtyard. The rain forecast wasn’t being very clear that day, so we pushed the decision as late as possible, and ended up setting up under the covered area in the courtyard. It worked nicely for their count of 110 guests and created a long aisle for Linden and Jacob. The ceremony florals growing up from the ground by Poppies and Posies actually looked even better against the brick wall of the restaurant than it might have done against the grand tree in the courtyard!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding Anniversary

Most of our Blue Hill at Stone Barns weddings range from 150-220 guests, but sometimes we get to plan an intimate celebration and it is small enough to fit in the main dining room in the restaurant. Which I absolutely adore! Michelle and Dmitri celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal at Blue Hill in the fall. The restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesdays, so it allows us to use the space for a special celebration on a Monday night after a holiday weekend!

See the video below from the talented McKenzie Miller Films!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding: Sarna and Matthew

As the weather is starting to turn cooler in New York, I'm thinking back to this gorgeous autumn wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Sarna and Matthew were married on a crisp fall day at one of my favourite venues. Sarna wore a stunning vintage inspired beaded gown from Jenny Packham and fresh flowers in her hair.
