Somia and Jared had a beautiful wedding at the iconic Rainbow Room. It was my first Muslim marriage ceremony and I loved learning about the traditions and customs. Somia wore two stunning gowns by Zara Shahjahan with jewelry from Neemar, and Jared wore a classic black tuxedo. The bridesmaids wore different gowns, but in a complimentary palette ranging from champagne to blush with sequin details.
For the ceremony Poppies and Posies designed a floral installation that grew up from the ground to decorate the ceremony area, but still show off the impressive views of the New York City skyline. Somia carried a bouquet of creamy white dahlia, spray garden rose and quick fire hydrangea. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed Bateel dates as they moved to the cocktail reception. We brought in a mirrored escort table from Luxe Event Rentals and the cards were hand calligraphed by Mary Ellen.
Lush florals continued in the Rainbow Room with high and low arrangements filled with creamy white and pale blush dahlia, snapdragon, and roses ranging from creamy white to soft blush and dusty rose. We draped the sweetheart table in a blush sequin linen to make it a little extra special. Poppies and Posies had florals growing up from the ground at the sweetheart table, wrapping around the banister behind and two large urn arrangements in the backdrop too! The bride had found some hand torn vellum cards that we used for place cards with metallic gold calligraphy tied with a pale blush silk ribbon. The menus had a geometric blind debossed background with gold foil lettering, in the same style as their elegant invitation suite from Bella Figura. The wedding cake from Ron Ben-Israel had their invitation monogramme in gold, abstract mixed metallic accents and exquisite sugar flowers.
It was still daylight when guests were invited into dinner and the space was filled with rainbows from all the crystals hanging in the windows reflecting the sunlight! It was a wedding filled with such love from their families and friends. One that I will always remember fondly in my heart. Thank you to Heather Waraksa for capturing all this goodness!

One of my favourite wedding highlights ever! Make sure to watch this full screen. The personal vows that they exchanged privately right after the first look are so sweet. Thank you to McKenzie Miller Films for doing such a magnificent job capturing their day at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. More on their wedding here.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding from McKenzie Miller Films
Karli’s friend is a watercolour artist who created the beautiful watercolour paintings on their invitation suite printed on handmade paper. It was the perfect start to their wedding that took place at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York. Karli wore an exquisite Mira Zwillinger gown and Griffen looked so sharp in this navy tuxedo from The Tux Store. The bridesmaids wore flowy, wrap, sage dresses from The Reformation.
They were married in the courtyard in front of a delicately draped wooden arch, decorated with sage green Russian olive, creamy white garden roses, white protea, snapdragon and lisianthus. Karli walked down the aisle to “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys played by a string quartet from Luminous Sounds.
Guests were invited to the main restaurant and terrace for cocktails. A percussionist was added to the string quartet to give an upbeat feel to the festivities! We transitioned to the upper Hayloft for a seated dinner. The happy couple and their bridal party sat on a 24 foot long head table. Aged brass vases and smaller frog dishes housed the creamy white peonies, garden roses, white protea, scabiosa, white snapdragon and sage greenery along the table. Interspersed with romantic creamy white taper candles in glass sleeves.
After 3 delicious courses by Blue Hill at Stone Barns, we moved back to the restaurant for cutting of the wedding cake and parent dances. The dance party ensued in earnest and guests enjoyed passed desserts of malted barley cones, cascara and chocolate, and Barber chouquettes. These were followed with late night snacks of a mini beet dog, grilled cheese and fries. There was even a whisky station setup in the shed. We had added some beautiful lounge furniture from Patina to the terrace for guests to lounge in when they weren’t partying on the dance floor. What a celebration! Enjoy all these joyful moments captured by the wonderful Mademoiselle Fiona.
