Food Wedding Favours

I often get asked what makes for a good wedding favour.  I am a huge fan of something edible.  A favourite bakery like Billy's Bakery, candy store like Pappabubble, or chocolate shop like Burdick Chocolate make for a sweet treat for your guests to eat on the way home.  Incorporating something to do with the city you are getting married, or perhaps where you are from is also a great idea.  Maybe your family is from the south, and you could do grits with a tasty shrimp and grits favor shrimp and grits-1

Personal Touches

I love personal touches added to your wedding day.  This Bride and Groom met on an airplane!  Ron Ben-Israel Cakes captured this in an elegant way with simple little planes on a white vanilla cake with alternating layers of chocolate and hazelnut praline with hazelnut crunch filling.NY palace wedding - ang weddings and events - jen huang photography-17

Jaine from Brklyn View introduced me to Popbars, hot chocolate on a stick.  They come in white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate (my favourite).  Heat up some milk and stir your Popbar in the milk for 1-2 minutes until it melts.  Perfect thing to warm you up in these colder winter months.  These would make for a cozy wedding favour at a winter wedding.pop bar hot chocolate on a stick-3

Happy Thanksgiving

My contribution to Thanksgiving this year is a pecan pie from The Pioneer Woman and Sylvia's Perfect Pie Crust recipe.  Don't laugh at my pie crust crimping.  Let's say it gives it a homemade rustic feel.We have a lot to be thankful for this year.  Thank you to all our wonderful clients past and present and to all our wedding industry colleagues.  I hope you are all spending today with family and friends, and enjoying lots of good food and company.  Happy Thanksgiving!
