Internship with Ang Weddings and Events

Ang Weddings and Events is looking to hire interns to assist with production the day of the wedding.  Interns will be assisting me in liaising with vendors and assembly of the event.  These are long days (sometimes over 14 hours) and you will be on your feet most of the time.   During setup and breakdown we are often moving heavy objects.  I am looking for someone who has a strong work ethic, has a great attention to detail, can work in a fast paced environment, think on their feet and be an excellent communicator.  Weddings are usually Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays in New York.  You will be involved in one of the most important days in a person's life and gain valuable experience in event planning.  To be considered for this position, please send your cover letter and resume to with subject line INTERNSHIP.

Saint Bartholomew the Great, London

I am fond of a venue with a bit of history.  Saint Bartholomew the Great is one of London's oldest churches.  I found a framed hand drawn map in the church, detailing the different parts of the church and when they date back to.  Check out the key below.  Yes....centuries.

The beautiful architecture means it has appeared in a long list of films - Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love, The End of the Affair, Elizabeth and The Other Boleyn Girl.  Most recently Snow White and the Huntsman was filmed there.

It is a really special venue for an intimate wedding.

Tie the Knot Ring

There seem to be different views on where the saying to tie the knot comes from.  At one of our recent wedding ceremony, the Priest had the Bride and Groom hold hands as she wrapped a sash around their hands (tying the knot) and pronounced them Husband and Wife.

I like this tie the knot ring from Rony Tennenbaum.  He has a number of different collections with unique designs for those looking for something a little different.

Studio Visit to Katie Fischer Design

Katie was kind enough to give me a studio tour of Katie Fischer Design and show me examples of her work.  She really takes the time to get to know her clients and creates beautiful custom designs.  Her illustrations are so unique and whimsical.  I particularly loved the illustrations that she did for a wedding where the tables were named for places that were meaningful to the Bride and Groom.  I am always an advocate for little details that bring more personality to a wedding.  She would be a pleasure to work with and I hope I get to collaborate with her soon.
