I just got back from a long weekend in Martha's Vineyard, an island off the south of Cape Cod in New England . This was the first place that my husband and I travelled to when we were dating. When we also got engaged there on a later trip, we decided we had to try and go back every year. As soon as I step onto the island, I instantly feel so relaxed. It is a much slower pace of life there and a nice getaway from New York. I love the smell of the ocean, watching the boats go by and wandering around Edgartown admiring the beautiful houses.
Every visit there is never complete without a day trip to Larsen's Fish Market in Menemsha. Nothing better than eating steamed lobster and just shucked oysters while sitting on a wooden crates next to the water.
I came across the Dr. Daniel Fisher House in Edgartown, which has really beautiful gardens. I was pleased to find out that they hold weddings there. I can picture it now. A clam bake on the beach as a welcome party or rehearsal dinner. Treating your guests to a trip around the island on a boat. Followed by the wedding at one of the many scenic properties on the island. If you want to get married in Martha's Vineyard, please call me!
